Views on Harbor Village

The assistance we received regarding our recent move can only be described as EXCELLENT! Right from our first inquiry, both Jessica and Hilary were friendly, patient and understanding of our needs, nothing was too hard or too insignificant, full marks to both!

Since moving in small issues and problems (e.g. noisy shower, towell rack etc., have been quickly fixed.

Transition was simple and easy, thank you. The welcome pack has been both informative and helpful.

We have been in the Lutheran Harbor Village for 7 ½ months and we have been so impressed with the friendly welcome & acceptance by all residents that we have met. The location is so ideal as we age for strolling to Coles or Bunnings, for eating out or just socialising with residents at Bowls, BBQ or club room activities. There are many opportunities for bus trips to interesting locations with lunch included at little expense. Our only regret is that we took so long before taking this BIG STEP into this Retirement Village thinking that we would miss our garden and the fruit trees that need regular pruning.

Well friends, we don’t miss anything left behind. We have a beautiful unit, a beautiful garden and great neighbours. We have easy walks to the beach or to the local Golf Club for a meal. Films are regularly shown and interesting speakers on topics concerning us as we slowly. What we don’t have is tap washers to change, or any maintenance at all. So, friends, sit back and think what you want as you age. Security, lovely unit, convenience, and the warmth of new friends.

“The thing I value most about living at Harbor Village is its natural environment.  Of a night you can hear the ‘sounds of silence’ punctuated only by the calls of Spur-winged Plovers and the crash of waves rolling onto the nearby beach.  The sights of the dawn include Blue Wrens foraging across our lawn.  The peace of the day can be spent sitting on the commemorative bench under the Argyle Apple tree with its cabbage-coloured leaves.  The sounds of the evening are dominated by seagulls calling me to memories of meals of fish and chips.”

I love living in my unit in Harbor Village, it’s close to shopping and easy to manage and i enjoy my own garden of flowers and veggies. The recreation room for meetings, exercise, library, movies etc, indoor and green bowls is also available, yes I am glad I made the move.

I have now been in the Harbor Village for 6 months. From the time I have moved in I have felt totally comfortable. Everyone is so friendly and the office is very happy to do what they can to help. Best decision I ever made.

We have lived at Harbor Village for five and a half years and appreciate the maintenance team that is available.  If something needs attention we find that our request is attended to promptly and efficiently.  Regular checks of air conditioning units and smoke alarms, as well as replacement of large items like hot water systems or tanks is done and sometimes the team themselves notice things that need to be done without any prompting.  It is a great service.

I'm truly blessed to be a resident in Harbor Village. I have a very comfortable refurbished unit and really appreciate this caring and supportive community. Obviously the layout of the village was given much thought ensuring reasonable space and privacy for everyone. Picturesque gardens throughout the grounds add to it's appeal.

I enjoy participating in many of the activities/events that the Social Committee organize where all are warmly welcomed, however no-one is pressured to attend if they choose not to.

It's a real relief to have maintenance requirements attended to and a real bonus to have been able to bring my friendly Labrador here with me. It's a great life in Harbor Village for which I am extremely thankful.

I wish to express my delight at the recently completed entrance landscaping.  Its blend of hard and soft landscaping presents a striking and creative modernist introduction to the village for visitors and potential residents. I express my appreciation in both my capacity as a resident of the village and as a landscape design professional.
